Q1: What is the difference between EPDM and SBR granules?
A: EPDM is a virgin, synthetic rubber primarily valued for its exceptional durability, color stability, and UV resistance. It is used as the top, visible layer for high-quality, long-lasting, and aesthetically pleasing surfaces. SBR is a recycled rubber from tires. It is a cost-effective material primarily used as an elastic infill in the lower layer of a system to provide shock absorption, but it offers limited color options and will fade over time when exposed to sunlight.
Q2: How long does the color last?
A: Our EPDM granules are manufactured with high-quality, inorganic pigments that are UV-stable. Under normal weather conditions, they will retain their vibrant color for over 8 years without significant fading. For projects in areas with extreme, direct sunlight, some gradual fading may occur after this period, but the integrity of the surface remains intact.
