The problem
Bubbles and wrinkles never lie flat again.
With ordinary backing, summer heat and constant rallies make the turf lift into bumps and creases - and the surface never returns to flat. An uneven surface means an uneven game.
Left: ordinary backing prone to bubbles and creases. Right: the base-cloth construction - flat and stable from day one.
The fix
One extra layer under the surface.
We bond a reinforcing woven base cloth beneath the pile. It spreads load across the whole mat and locks the surface flat, so bubbles have nowhere to grow.
01
Extra woven base cloth
Added beneath the pile - the anti-bubble key.
02
Multi-layer backing
A cutaway shows the layered base, bonded as one.
03
One continuous flat base
Fold it back - a single cloth-backed surface, no lift, no crease.
Check it yourself
What to look for in a cut sample.
Samples are cut from production rolls, so what arrives is what ships in a full court set. Inspect the backing before you commit.
A tightly woven mesh backing - not a loose single scrim.
Layers bonded as one piece: fold it back and nothing separates.
Square, clean cut edges, so roll-to-roll joints sit flush.
Blue, black, pink and green as standard - custom shades are produced to your court design or club brand. Send the court drawing and we match the color.
Heat expansion plus constant foot traffic makes a single-layer backing stretch and lift. Once the pile has lifted, the surface does not come back flat on its own - and an uneven surface means an uneven ball roll.
What exactly is the extra woven base cloth?
A reinforcing woven cloth bonded beneath the pile, on top of the normal backing. It spreads load across the whole mat and locks it flat, which is what keeps bubbles from forming.
Can I check the material before ordering a full court?
Yes. Cut samples are available and come straight from production rolls, so you can inspect the woven backing and the cut edge yourself before committing.
What is the standard specification?
12 mm pile height, 44,000 - 46,200 stitches per m2, extra woven base-cloth backing, 4.2 m roll width (Ø 50 cm), and about 210 m2 for a full court set.
Which colors can I order?
Blue, black, pink and green are standard. Custom shades are produced to your court design or club brand - send the drawing and we match the color.
How do the joints between rolls look?
Rolls are large format (4.2 m wide), so a court needs fewer joints. The flat base-cloth surface keeps every roll-to-roll joint flush instead of lifting at the edges.
What about MOQ and delivery?
MOQ and lead time are arranged per project. Send your court size, color and destination port and we will confirm both in the quotation.
