School is back in session. Please give the plastic running tracks on campus a "check-up"! Please keep this safety self-inspection guide well!

Time : 2025-09-06

Everyone knows that children run, play and exercise on the playground every day, and that plastic track is their stage of joy. As a track manufacturer, what we care about most is: Can this track always safely support children's steps?

In addition to the regular professional maintenance provided by our factory, daily "self-inspections" are also extremely important! Today, I'm going to share with you a simple self-inspection guide of "look, touch and smell". Let's give the runway a "physical examination" together and nip potential safety hazards in the bud!

The first step: Use your eyes to "see"

When passing by the playground every day, take an extra look:

1. Is the surface "skin" okay? Are there any large areas of cracking, blistering, bulging or obvious wear and tear? Especially the edges of the runway and areas that are frequently stepped on.

2. Are the "lines" still clear? Are the markings on the runway blurry? This is not merely a matter of aesthetics; it also concerns the fairness and safety of competitions and training in physical education classes.

3. Is there any "foreign object" invading? Check if there are any sharp stones, glass shards, branches or other hard objects. These small things are the main culprits that cause tripping and cutting children.

4. Is the drain unobstructed? Check the water accumulation after the rain. If there is always a pool of water that doesn't recede for a long time, it indicates that there might be a problem with the drainage. The slippery ground is prone to causing falls.

Step 2: Touch it with your hand

Just looking is not enough. Sometimes you have to put your hands on (you can wear gloves) :

1. Feel the "texture" : Check if the surface of the track remains uniform and elastic. Is there any place that feels particularly hard, particularly slippery, or has powderized and crumbled?

2. Press the "hardness" : Gently press on the edge of the track or an inconspicuous area to feel if the base layer is still solid. If there is any area that feels sunken or soft, be careful. There might be a problem with the bottom layer.

Step 3: Smell with your nose

This point is extremely crucial! Especially after hot weather and intense sun exposure: Approach and take a sniff. Is there any pungent or uncomfortable strange smell? A qualified and well-crafted plastic running track should no longer have a strong chemical odor after being put into use. If a distinct stench can still be smelled after a long time, it requires high attention.

Finally, and most importantly: Establish a "health record"

It is suggested that the school establish a simple "health record" for the runway. Every time a problem is found during an inspection, even if it is just a small crack, it should be recorded and a photo taken. This way, we can not only track the changes in its "condition", but also quickly and accurately explain the situation when our factory comes for on-site maintenance.

Safety is no small matter, and children's health is of Paramount importance. The plastic running track carries the laughter and joy of children as well as their healthy growth. As a manufacturer, we will always be the most solid support for the school. If you find any uncertain problems during your self-inspection, don't hesitate to contact us at any time! Only by having professionals carry out professional inspections and maintenance can we ensure that everything is foolproof.
