• Selection of filler types:

The commonly used fillers are quartz sand and rubber particles. Quartz sand can enhance the stability and anti-slip performance of lawns and help fix grass fibers. Rubber particles can provide elasticity and shock absorption, reducing the risk of athletes getting injured.

• Specification requirements:

The particle size of quartz sand should be 0.5-1.5mm, the silicon dioxide content should be no less than 90%, and it should be of the type without sharp corners or powder shedding after water washing. The particle size of rubber particles is usually 1 to 3mm.

• Filling ratio:

The usual ratio is 70% rubber particles +30% quartz sand, but it can be adjusted according to the purpose of the site. For example, for sports with high impact strength, the proportion of rubber particles can be appropriately increased.

• Filling depth:

The thickness of the filling particles for artificial turf football fields is generally no less than 60% to 70% of the height of the grass fibers. After filling, the turf will have a sinking stage during use, so it is necessary to consider reserving a certain allowance.

• Filling amount:

For artificial turf with a height of 50mm, the filling amount of quartz sand is generally 20-25kg/m², and the filling amount of rubber particles is approximately 5kg/m². The specific values may vary depending on the product characteristics and site requirements.

• Construction process:

Before filling, the lawn should be cleaned and trimmed to ensure that the surface is flat and free of debris. When filling, it is necessary to ensure uniform particle distribution. Professional equipment or manual laying can be used. After filling, the particles should be compacted and trimmed, and the filling volume and distribution should be checked to see if they meet the requirements.

• Material quality:

Rubber particles can be selected from types such as EPDM particles and TPE particles. TPE particles are environmentally friendly and safe but expensive, while EPDM particles are environmentally friendly, of high quality and low price. No matter which type it is, particles that are elastic, tough, not easy to break and free of dust should be selected. For children's or youth training fields, green particles with high rubber content should be chosen to ensure they are non-toxic and harmless.

• Post-maintenance:

Regular inspection and replenishment of the filling material should be carried out to ensure uniform filling and avoid sweeping out a large amount of filling material. Maintenance is preferably conducted in spring and autumn.
